The old days

I've found some very old photos on the hard drive... according to the people involved, this photo is from 1993, when we used to play football in the close from when school finished until it was time for bed. Back row: Patrick Lyons, Paul "Lenny" Holt, me. Front row: Michael Lyons, Robert Aldred, Chris Nield and Martin Aldred.

"I know a few United chants you'll all love."
"Where's Lenny?"
"This is better than staying at home with the family."
"Does Ronaldo beat Paul Scholes?"

Thumbs up if you wish you could do this every weekend.

Birthday party part 1
At last I have managed to get together all the photos from the night we celebrated me turning 27.

Choosing what to have at the Maple Tree.
"Have we got enough for a starter?"
"I've heard the sweet and sour chicken is good."

Vista is here

The new version of Windows has been released and to celebrate the occasion I travelled down to London last week for the official launch. The world's richest man, Mr Bill Gates, was there talking about how great Vista is, and here he is in action. If you want to know how all that money gets spent, click here to read about his $125million house.

Happy Birthday James Joyce

Today marks what would have been the 125th birthday of one of my favourite writers, James Joyce. His Dubliners short story collection includes The Dead, which ends with a snowy graveyard (see above), and Two Gallants, after which Chewi's favourite band are named. If you want to read the 12 stories, about everything from skipping school and late-night card games to falling in love and dying alone, they are all available online for free here.
