The 39 Steps

Robert Donat as Richard Hannay in Hitchcock's 1935 film adaptation.

Rupert Penry-Jones, the new Richard Hannay.

Good news from TV land as the BBC have announced they'll be remaking the classic novel The 39 Steps in time for the Christmas holidays. A book that was so good I read it in one day. Rupert Penry-Jones will be taking on the role of Richard Hannay, who has to avoid all kinds of baddies and enemy spies as he flees across the country. Watch out for the man with the missing finger. If you want to read the book, it's available for free online here. The Guardian's article on the new BBC version is here.
